SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Demetrios II Nikator, first reign, 146-138 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 14.00 g, 12 h), Phoenician standard, Tyre, SE 167 = 146/5. Diademed head of Demetrios II to right. Rev. ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΔHMHTPIOY Eagle with closed wings standing left on prow; behind, palm frond; to left, city monogram on club; to right, 𐤆ΞP above monogram of HΓ. SC 1959.1b. Lightly toned. The obverse slightly porous and with small die breaks, otherwise, good very fine.
